I wanted to take a moment to congratulate you on another excellent meeting. Although it has been several years since I have been an active member, you all have never been too far from my thoughts. I am pleased to see that you have continued to produce a meeting that has the most value for the dollar spent. The caliber of presenters and speakers, the nurturing support to the newest/youngest of participants, the opportunity to network with others in a setting that is not intimidating or filled with "politics", and the "inclusive" atmosphere of the meeting, all contribute to an experience that everyone can enjoy. You have continued to be attentive to the needs of all of your attendees, to the extent that even someone like myself, who no longer works in the transfusion service, found plenty of offerings throughout the meeting. I was pleased to see that you are nurturing the newest members with a mentor program, which will be vital to the strength and longevity of the organization. On a personal note, I want to thank you all for making me feel welcome; I have truly missed you, and the camaraderie of my former SCABB family. I wish you all the best with your endeavors, and I hope that the next 50 years can be as exciting and educating as the last.
