Advanced Clinical Lab Specialist

Blood Systems has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Medical Technologist (MT) to work in our Immunohematology Reference Laboratory (IRL). This position is responsible for performing advanced immunohematology test procedures and interpret complex test results for an AABB accredited IRL. In addition, the successful candidate will resolve compatibility problems and provide reference/consultation services to hospitals and transfusion facilities. This position also provides skilled technical support in the laboratory and will require an individual to be able to work independently with sound judgment while following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and industry regulations.

A Bachelor’s degree is required. MT (ASCP) by a recognized certifying agency is required. SBB preferred. CLIA requirements for high complexity testing required. California testing requirements must be met within one year is required. Three years clinical laboratory testing experience is required. The successful candidate must possess excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and computer input/retrieval skills. In addition, the position requires comprehension and application of clinical laboratory procedures and theory and the ability to work in a team environment. Previous experience in immunohematology reference lab is highly desired. The shift for this position is Wednesday thru Saturday from 6:00pm -4:30am.
